OBLIGE BY NATURE SHAMPOO + CONDITIONER
Can I get a Le Sigh up in here?
When it comes to vegan, cruelty free and natural shampoo, I have to admit I was getting kind of depressed. After a recent trip to my stylist who complained (politely) that I had too much build-up on my scalp, I really questioned if I was ever going to find an effective holy trinity (V, CF, N) when it came to my shampoo.
And then like a sign from God, I crossed paths with Oblige By Nature.
The first thing that caught my eye about Oblige shampoo was the selection of clean, refreshing scents. I’m NOT a morning person (however I may try) and Oblige’s Mint Shampoo seemed like the perfect wake-me-up treat! No harmful toxins, synthetics, sulfates or animal products, I couldn’t wait to scrub-a-dub-dub!
The mint scent is everything I dreamed it would be. Salon quality, yet light and natural – thanks to peppermint and spearmint essential oils. As with most 100% naturally derived shampoos you do have to use a little extra product to get the lather we’ve been trained to love by cocamide DEA, MEA, TEA or sodium lauryl sulfate. (Enter skull and cross bones here.) However, I was pleasantly surprised with the nice lather I got from the Oblige Shampoo – and felt no weightiness or greasiness when I rinsed. Just squeaky clean and fresh mint smelling hair!
Time to condition!
Confession time: I can be a royal pain when it comes to finding a conditioner I love. They’re either too thick, too greasy, don’t rinse out – or make my already stick straight volume-less hair even flatter.
Oblige’s Nourishing Conditioner - which is made with organic and 100% natural ingredients is not like any conditioner I’ve used before (and with my history that’s a good thing!) Infused with aloe, essential oils, herbal extracts, shea butter (and more) this conditioner is not thick or greasy, but fairly lightweight and buttery smooth. The consistency is just enough to nourish and detangle – but not heavy enough to build-up or weigh down your hair. This product really made me realize in a new way that when we use organic, plant-based ingredients, our bodies need much less product – because we’re giving it exactly what it needs to thrive!
I do have two other exciting Oblige by Nature products to review- and based on my experience with the shampoo and conditioner, I just know I’m going to love them all!
Have you tried Oblige By Nature yet? Would love to hear your thoughts!
